Double Bass Application
Rumba is drum/dance music from Cuba. There are three (or more) types of rumba: Yambú, Guaguancó, and Columbia. Some of the styles of rumba use boxes called cajon, some use drums. Most use the sounds of the instrument called catá. The catá can be a small box, a piece of bamboo, or another percussive instrument, played with sticks, spoons, or whatever is handy! There are several patterns for catá. Here are two, along with an idea of the sticking.
A relatively simple idea for an application would be to use each of these rhythms to play a back beat oriented groove. These ideas are for double bass, or single bass as well (especially the second groove).
