New Lesson Information

Well, I've remodeled my drum room/studio and installed some amazing equipment for teaching and recording. I'm also gearing up for live lessons online. Got my camera going and now I'm going to figure out how to mic my drums, connect them to my Mac Pro quad core to provide great sound for the online live lessons. I'm ready to do the lessons using the mics from my Sony camcorder as well. Check it out!

I can be reached at Yahoo Instant Messenger (YIM) at <study_culture>

OK, if you've visited my pages before, you're used to my lessons written with Sibelius. This lesson was in response to a good friend and teacher, Sammy J Watson, who was asking me for a real basic "mambo" groove for one of his students. I was looking on my lessons pages and couldn't find this super basic information anywhere. I wrote this up real fast and sent it over to Sammy J!

OK, this looked pretty bad written by hand so I went ahead and re-did it with Sibelius!

Very basically, this is a variation of the cáscara pattern with an open (regular note head) and closed sound (x)played between cross stick and tom. Bass drum is pretty basic and sounds good without being overwhelming.
You'll notice there's no HH. So, this is pretty basic three way coordination that sounds good.
