TAKING CARE OF YOUR LOWER BACK

Well, folks, my back is really hurting. (Those of you who are my private students know about this by now!) I am in the middle of my heavy lifting month in my weight program and while doing "low rows" I lifted with my lower back and KAPOW!!

The most important thing I know to do is to STRETCH. Having studied Yoga, I know many different stretches for the body. But, sometimes I just don;t have the time. And the consequence is a sore back and inability to bend. Wow, this really is not fun. There are some very simple stretches for your back, both lower and upper, that can really help you not have back problems.

MASSAGE is so great as well. My wife and I have a friend who is an excellent, licensed masseuse. Ana is sent from above! Even once a month is such a great thing to keep the muscles stretched and able to deliver fresh blood and get rid of waste.

EXERCISE is a key element as well. Now I will remember so well to use PROPER FORM when doing my weight training. This is very important.

I hope my back has sufficiently improved by the time I leave for Cuba. I'll be taking good care of it now and forever more!!
