Drumset Artists of Cuba

Four rising stars of Cuban drumset artistry appear in this 65 minute video, teaching new grooves slowly and methodically, soloing with ferocious technical ability, and grooving with their respective bands. The video is carefully laid out so it is both educational and a documentary, showing Cuban music as it is beng played now! A booklet of transcriptions is included with each video.

Practical Applications Video

Chuck Silverman video

In this video I present information from my first and third books of my Practical Applications series. There's also information about applying various rhythms to the drumset in groove, solo, and fill contexts. I had a great time explaining my cncepts and explaining them in what I feel is a very understandable and usable method.

PAS Video

This video is a recording of one of my Clinics given at the PAS International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. In it I perform and teach different Afro-Caribbean Rhythms and some Funk grooves as well. The video is a lot of fun and I think it's very educational also.

Djabote: Senegalese Drumming and Song

Winner of the Indy Award for Best Performance Video 1995

Djabote video

A spellbinding film of a recording session of Senegalese master-drummer Doudou N'Diaye Rose and dozens of other drummers and singers performing as an ensemble. Filmed on the island of Goree, off the coast of Dakar, the capital of Senegal, this film captures African drumming in perhaps one of the most dramatic settings imaginable, one of West Africa's major centers of the slave trade. One of the most stunningly beautiful music videos ever produced. >43 minutes.
