My World Percussion Class at Musicians Institute

I teach a class at MI for non drummers and drummers alike. We divide the class into three parts: Cuban rhythms, Brazilian rhythms, and African rhythms. Here's our lesson on clave, cáscara, and two very easy
"one drum marcha" conga patterns.

You see the "son" and "rumba" claves on the left side of the board. Under that is the rhythm commonly called "cáscara".

On the right side of the board are the two tumbadora patterns.

H = heel

T = tip

S = slap

O = open
